About the Power BI Model Auditor

A free, browser-only tool for documenting and auditing your Power BI models.

What we built

The Power BI Model Auditor turns a Power BI file (.pbix, .pbit, or .bim) into an instant data dictionary, relationship and measure-dependency diagrams, and a model health audit — then generates a Tabular Editor script you can run to fix the issues it finds.

Why it's different

Most documentation and best-practices tooling asks you to install add-ins, connect to a workspace, or upload your model to a hosted service. We took the opposite approach: your file is parsed entirely in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there is no sign-up. Your model metadata, DAX, and business logic never leave your machine.

Who it's for

BI developers, analytics engineers, and data teams who need to document a model, hand it off, or clean it up — find unused measures and columns, trace DAX dependencies, review relationships, and reduce file size, without leaving the browser.
