Your file never leaves your browser

The Power BI Model Auditor is a browser-only tool. When you open a .pbix, .pbit, or .bim file, all parsing, diagram rendering, and audit checks happen locally in your browser tab using JavaScript. Your model metadata, DAX, table and column names, and the resulting documentation are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on any server we control. We have no ability to see, collect, or retain the models you analyze.

Information we do not collect

• We do not require an account, sign-up, or login.
• We do not collect, sell, or share your model, DAX, or business logic.
• We do not use tracking cookies to build advertising profiles.

Local storage

The Service may store small preferences — such as your light/dark theme choice — in your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Hosting and server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages served) in server logs for security and reliability. These logs do not include the contents of your Power BI file, which is never sent to the server in the first place.

Analytics

If we use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand overall usage of the Service, such data is anonymized and never linked to the models you analyze. We do not use it to identify individual users.
